About the Online Trafficking Workstream

This workstream aims to strengthen the tech industry’s response to online trafficking harms by collaborating as an industry and engaging with anti-trafficking experts and those with lived experience.

Survivor-Centric Platform Practices

In 2025, TAT conducted a series of consultations with lived experience experts to explore how tech companies can improve several platform practices. This memo outlines recommendations for tech companies to adopt “survivor-centric platform practices,” i.e., practices that incorporate the perspectives of individuals with lived experience. Recommendations in this memo span four areas, which were identified as areas of improvement by TAT:

  1. User reporting
  2. User education
  3. Post-trafficking support
  4. Meaningful survivor engagement
